2.) Tenaciousness is also about attitude. Last weekend, I had friends coming into town for the football game and had not yet completed my blog posts. I found myself low on motivation to get my work done because I was excited to see my friends and wanted to show them a good time. I wanted to just give up and say that I would take the fall for not completing my assignments, but this was a time that I decided to pull through. I feel like I am a person that prides myself in getting all of my work done, so I had to dig deep for motivation and lock myself in my room so that I could focus and get my work done. I feel like I have developed a tenacious attitude during my time in this course because at first I was hesitant to complete my work after looking at prompts, but now I am in a groove that makes sure that I complete everything on time.
3.) Three tips. The first tip that I would give to a student that was getting ready to take this class is to organize your schedule to guarantee that you have plenty of time to complete the assignments. The second tip that I would give a student is to do a lot of internet research for developing the opportunity that we have been discussing so much in order to ensure that they will have plenty to talk about and learn. A third and final tip that I would give is to try and knock out the peer reviews right after completing your blog posts so that you do not forget about getting easy points when the deadline comes.

Hey Travis!
ReplyDeleteThis was a good read, I like your tip about being organized. Being organized is the key to this class and to any online class. Being organized will allow you to not get caught up in your schedule worrying about due dates. To add, I like how you pride yourself on getting your work done, that tells me that you are responsible and take initiative.
Hi Travis,
ReplyDeleteI thought your blog post about tenaciousness was done very well. This class challenges us all to push ourselves in pursuing our ideas. I also found myself in a similar situation to yours. I too had people that made me low on motivation and caused me to consider skipping an assignment. I too made the right decision and completed my work.

Hey Travis, I like your blog and what you said in this post. Being tenacious in this class and in life is needed. There are plenty of times that it gets close to the deadline and you really do not want to write. It is important to fight through that and write a good post. I also think that you were correct in telling the new students to be organized for this class. Organization and responsibility are important for this class.
ReplyDeleteHi Travis,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading this post of yours. I too found that this class has required me to stay on top of all of my work by using good organizational skills, along with thinking outside the box sometimes. I also agree with you that tenacity is required when you live in an environment that can bring plenty of distractions. Living in a fraternity house, I find myself sometimes having to escape and get away from all of the distractions here in order to be tenacious.
